This weekend, Graceland Exhibition Center is proud to feature Barber Motorsports Museum Presents: A Century of The American Motorcycle, an exhibit that recognizes the history of motorcycles. Learn more about these two-wheeled wonders at Elvis Presley’s famous home on July 27th!
Ever since the invention of early bicycles, people have searched and experimented with various ways to make transportation more automated and faster. Although putting a motor on a bicycle was deemed crazy at the time, centuries later the motorcycle has become a social and cultural symbol, a symbol of freedom that has found an enduring place in America.
The first motorcycles are almost humble in style. No one could have predicted or even dreamed what these machines, these pieces of art, would become today. This exhibit, curated by the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, explores a century of developers, inventors, and dreamers that pushed the envelope on what two wheels can do. This is a century of the American motorcycle.
With its creative architecture and great attention to detail, the Barber Motorsports Museum is home to over 1,400 motorcycles that span over 100 years of production. More than 650 bikes can be seen on any given day, and 200 different manufacturers from 20 countries are represented in the collection—from Harley-Davidson, Honda, and Indian—to Showa, DSK, and Cagiva.
This exhibit offers an experience tailored to any motorcycle enthusiast! Barber Motorsports Museum Presents: A Century of The American Motorcycle will be on display through November 23. Tours are $5-$16 and tickets can be purchased online at https://www.graceland.com.
While we provide plenty of on-site entertainment at The Grove at Trinity Pointe Apartments in Cordova, Tennessee, we believe that having fun within your larger community is equally as important. Do just that during this event on Saturday!
